Transparent Watercolor Painter - Representational Images - Brilliant Abstract Background

  • A watercolor artist creating realistic representations of world-wide specimen shells against brilliant abstract backgrounds in a manner generally atypical of transparent medium. Large scale original work - 60" x 40", 41" x 29", and occasionally 30" x 22" - on 100% cotton content paper.  

  • Re-emerged artistically after 13 months of personal rediscovery beginning August 2008. Exited this period of introspection a more prolific painter with clearer life purpose and more focused artistic direction. During the past several years, worked on compiling a new body of work.

EDUCATION:   

  • Formal training at the University of Connecticut School of Fine Arts, in Storrs, CT. Received  Bachelors of Fine Arts

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:   

  • Produced watercolor illustrations for Palm Beach Life Magazine over 15 years.  Awarded for best illustration                              

PRIVATE  COLLECTIONS: 

  • Transitioned from watercolor illustration back to fine art painting creating art purchase and/or commissioned by private collectors.

  • Selection of recent work currently on loan in Saks Hall at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Provided framed art reproductions for use in the University guest rooms.

RECENT   EXHIBITIONS:  

  • Invited to exhibit at Palm Beach Gardens Municipal City Hall – June 2019  

  • Invited to exhibit a second time at de Lessups Gallery – Palm Beach Atlantic University - Dec. 2018.

  • “Divine Designs” one-woman exhibition at the Palm Beach Atlantic University Warren Library’s, de Lesseps Gallery. Show ran February 26th through April 19th 2015.

  • "Nature Underwater" Elsa Kimball Education Pavilion - Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Hobe Sound, Florida. Show ran October 4th through November 17th, 2013.

NONPROFIT CONTRIBUTIONS:

  • Contributed original work and Fine Arts reproductions to Palm Beach Atlantic University for Alumni Tea Scholarship Auction - seven years. 

  • Contributed work to Loggerhead Turtle Museum Go Blue Annual Fundraiser - two years.

  • Contributed framed prints to Palm Beach County Employees Annual Cook-off and Silent Auction.

  • Contributed reproductions to Loxahatchee Guild, Tequesta, FL for their Gala and Silent Auction to benefit restoration of historic structures and landmarks - August 2018.
